Starbucks Global Day of Service 2015

Join the Voices for Children Team at Starbucks Global Day of Service with Feeding America San Diego!

Starbucks Global Day of Service 2014Starbucks San Diego is helping to feed San Diego as part of its 2015 Global Month of Service. On Saturday, April 18, Starbucks employees, friends, families, and customers will take over the Feeding America San Diego Distribution Center. We are happy to announce that Voices for Children is participating in this Global Day of Service as a way for our CASA volunteers and supporters to experience a volunteer opportunity with their own family and friends.

The two-hour shift we’re encouraging the VFC community to attend on April 18 is 2 to 4 p.m. During the shift, volunteers will have the opportunity to come together to sort, box, and bag items. We invite you to join the Voices for Children team as we support the fight against hunger! Every volunteer MUST sign up prior to the event.

To register, complete the following steps:

  1. Click here to visit the Feeding America San Diego website to view the Global Day of Service volunteer opportunities.
  2. You will need to create an account and sign up for the Starbucks Day of Service taking place on Saturday, April 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. shift.
  3. After signing up for our shift on Feeding America’s website, you will receive an email confirming your time slot.
  4. The day of the event, arrive at the Feeding America San Diego Distribution Center, located at 9455 Waples Street, Suite 135, at 1:45 pm for check-in with Feeding America.

Please note that volunteers must be at least 6 years old to volunteer with Feeding America San Diego, and at least 16 years old to volunteer without an adult. All volunteers under the age of 18 must bring a paper waiver signed by their parent or guardian. Waivers are available here. CASAs: Since we will have friends and family in attendance, this event is not appropriate for case children.

If you come, please wear your Voices for Children T-shirt! If you don’t yet have a shirt, please contact your Advocacy Supervisor. If you would like to order extras for friends or family, please visit our online store here – all proceeds benefit VFC! For questions, email Sheila Owens at sheilao@speakupnow.org.

We hope to see you there!
