Matt Olson
Director of Operations
Matt Olson, Director of Operations, joined Voices for Children in July 2011 as an Advocacy Supervisor. After being promoted to Program Manager, he played an integral role in developing and implementing the Case Liaison program in all San Diego County dependency courtrooms; this program allows Voices for Children to triage new dependency cases in real-time, collaborate with court professionals, and serve more children. As the Director of Program Operations, Matt oversaw the administrative support team, managed the organization’s case management database, and amongst other things, worked with his staff to transition the Program Team to a paperless operation. He was promoted to Director of Operations in 2022. Prior to working at Voices for Children, Matt worked at Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) San Diego as a group facilitator, working with military fathers. Matt joined the Marine Corps after high school and worked in the for-profit sector before his transition to non-profit work. Matt graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Child and Family Development with an emphasis in Family Systems from San Diego State University.
