Join us for an unforgettable afternoon with New York Times Bestseller and ultramarathoner Dion Leonard and his unlikely companion, Gobi — a small stray dog who against all odds ran alongside Dion during his 155-mile race across the Gobi Desert in China.

On October 4, 2025, Voices for Children celebrated 45 years of advocacy at Starry Starry Night on the stunning Heron Lawn at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort. More than 400 attendees were immersed in an “under the sea” experience that brought to life the spirit of the Starfish Story, a powerful reminder that changing just one life at a time can make all the difference.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters and the leadership of event chairs Stacy and Joshua Kim, Jenny and Mike Kropko, Katie and Mike Nicoletti, and Jamie and David Oberto, we raised critical funds to continue providing vital advocacy to children in our community who have experienced abuse and neglect.
The Judges’ Luncheon is a unique opportunity to recognize, thank, and learn from our San Diego Superior Court Juvenile Division judges who oversee the dependency cases involving our community’s children in foster care. Attendees have the opportunity to interact with judges, community partners, CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers, and others who are dedicated to supporting the needs of children in foster care within our community. During the program, a panel of judges will speak about the complexities of the foster care system and the critical role that Voices for Children and our CASA volunteers play in San Diego County.
