Suzy Garcia
Director of Marketing & Communications
Suzy Garcia brings more than 15 years of experience supporting nonprofits through strategic communications, compassionate storytelling, community engagement, and advocacy. Most recently, she served as Director of Public Relations at a local agency specializing in integrated communications for nonprofits and socially responsible companies, where she helped elevate the work of organizations including United Way of San Diego County, the National Conflict Resolution Center, Susan G. Komen San Diego, the San Diego Blood Bank, Mama’s Kitchen, and many others.
Her leadership and service have been recognized across the community. SD Metro magazine named her one of San Diego’s “40 Under 40,” and in 2019, she was honored as the North County Philanthropy Council’s Volunteer of the Year.
Previously, Suzy served as Director of Business Development for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) of San Diego/Imperial Counties and Las Vegas. In that role, she was recognized with the Elks Citizen of the Year Award for her community relations and advocacy efforts on behalf of children and families affected by neuromuscular diseases.
Suzy’s connection to Voices for Children is deeply personal. Having experienced foster care herself before finding a loving home at age six, she understands firsthand the lasting impact that support, stability, and advocacy can have in a child’s life.
