Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Diana has been working on a challenging case since February 2025, supporting a 5-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother, both living with their mother. When Diana first stepped in, the mother was extremely resistant; she withheld visits, didn’t respond to texts or calls, and wanted nothing to do with having a CASA involved. Over time, CASA Diana’s patience, consistency, and genuine care made all the difference. Slowly, the mother came to see that Diana was there to help. They realized she could be a strong support for the family and an important voice in helping the Court understand that the children were safe and thriving.
When the children’s father passed away, CASA Diana offered condolences and supported the family through an incredibly difficult moment. She has also helped maintain communication between the family and child welfare workers when needed, bridging gaps and keeping the needs of the child at the forefront. Without CASA Diana, the family’s progress toward stability and reunification would likely look very different. Her advocacy has been unwavering, even during the many months when she wasn’t allowed to meet the children face-to-face; she never gave up.
Most recently, CASA Diana accepted a second case, this time with four siblings. Each child has unique needs, and she is already diving in with enthusiasm and care as she gets to know them and begins advocating on their behalf.

Favorite Quote: My favorite quote is from Mahatma Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” I’ve learned more about my capacity to give and to care since becoming a CASA than I ever thought possible.
