Riverside County CASA of the Month – February 2024

Tiffany has been Danny’s* Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) since 2020, when he was 14-years-old. Danny has been in foster care since he was 10 and has never had a consistent adult in his life until Tiffany became his CASA. CASA Tiffany has been there for Danny throughout all of his placement changes, the tough times as well as the good times.  In the time she has served as his advocate, she has worked to ensure he has all the services he needs to thrive. Recently, CASA Tiffany’s unwavering advocacy helped Danny to receive speech therapy, being the only person who observed signs indicating that speech therapy would benefit him.

Over the past three years, CASA Tiffany has proudly witnessed Danny incredible journey of growth into a kind-hearted and generous young man. She has been by his side through school difficulties, eagerly listens as he explains inventions he’s created, and provides a compassionate ear when he struggles with behavioral challenges. She even drove him to his first job interview after he expressed wanting no one else but her to take him.

CASA Tiffany is a determined, empathetic advocate who always has Danny’s best interest in mind. She is a great listener who makes her youth feel understood and validated. Danny knows CASA Tiffany is someone he can call on any day or time, and she will be there to listen, guide, and support no matter the situation.

For a child living in foster care, especially an adolescent, trust, and stability are so important as these things tend to be missing in their childhood. CASA Tiffany’s wholesome connection with Danny illustrates the life-changing impact of one consistent adult in creating a trusting relationship with a youth.
