Annual gala will raise funds to support children in foster care in San Diego County
(August 23, 2023) SAN DIEGO – Voices for Children, along with Event Chairs Patricia Brutten and Marina Marrelli, will host a spectacular evening under the stars to support children living in San Diego County foster care and the life-changing advocacy of Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers. The annual Starry Starry Night gala will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the breathtaking The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.
Emceed by CBS 8’s Marcella Lee, the event will feature a cocktail reception, music, and performances by the San Diego Children’s Choir, Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra, and the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet. Attendees will enjoy an exquisite dining experience while listening to impactful stories from the CASA program and the CASA of the Year award presentation. Guests can participate in a live auction, Fund-a-CASA paddle raise, and dancing. Proceeds from Starry Starry Night advance Voice for Children’s vision of providing a CASA to every child in foster care who needs one.
Founded in 1980, Voices for Children transforms the lives of children in foster care by providing them with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). These volunteers trained and supported by Voices for Children advocate for youth in court, school, medical settings, and more to ensure their needs are met. Over time, a CASA often becomes the most consistent adult in the life of a child in foster care.

ABOUT VOICES FOR CHILDREN
Founded in 1980, Voices for Children (VFC) transforms the lives of abused, neglected, and abandoned children in foster care in San Diego and Riverside Counties by providing them with trained, volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). CASA volunteers advocate for a child or sibling group in foster care in court, school, and the community to ensure their needs are met. VFC believes every child deserves a safe and permanent home and strives to provide a CASA volunteer to every child in the foster care system who needs one.
